Guarding the essence
The 別雲劍 (별운검) was carried by the officer who stood closest to the king. Its name comes from the cloud that moves with the dragon — always there, never in the way. Even the hilt was cut with a cloud pattern.

A word Korea made later,
for a job it always had
護衛武士 (호위무사) is a modern Korean word. It does not appear in the Joseon records. The offices that do appear are 內禁衛 내금위, 兼司僕 겸사복, 羽林衛 우림위 and 別雲劍 별운검 — the men who stood a pace behind the king, saw everything, and were never the story.
Korea coined 護衛武士 afterwards because it needed one word for what those men were. We took the name for the same reason.
Joseon ended. The post did not. From the palace guard to the Korea of today, the same idea has carried: someone a pace behind you, seeing what you cannot, so that you can get on with your day.
That is the job we are asking this bottle to do — to stand behind your skin, and the day in front of it.

What is an all-in-one, exactly?
It replaces the toner, lotion and essence steps with a single product. You cleanse, you apply one layer, you are done. Both lines on this shelf are built that way — HOWIMUSA as a single-step essence, ANJO Mr. Simple as a 3-in-1 total solution.
Do I still need a toner and a lotion?
No. Replacing them is the entire point. If you are used to a three-bottle routine, put all three away and use one layer of the all-in-one after cleansing instead. That is the whole change.
When do I use it?
Right after cleansing, morning and night, while the skin is still slightly damp — that is when it spreads and absorbs best. It can also be used straight after shaving.
How much should I use?
Two to three pumps covers the face and neck. Spread it evenly along the skin texture, then press it in with your palms rather than rubbing it around. The whole thing takes about ten seconds.
Will it feel greasy or sticky?
Both products use a lightweight texture built to absorb without leaving a film — which is the reason we stock them for humid markets in the first place. The most repeated line in the Korean reviews is “I have oily skin and this does NOT add extra grease.”
Does it have a strong scent?
No heavy fragrance. What Korean customers write, almost word for word: “No old-man scent at all. Smells clean and fresh.”
My skin is oily, dry or sensitive. Is it suitable?
Both lines are supplied as suitable for all skin types, and the Korean reviews include oily and sensitive-skin users — “Zero irritation on my sensitive skin.” As with any new skincare, patch test first and discontinue use if irritation occurs.
Can I put sunscreen or makeup over it?
Yes. Give it about a minute to settle, then apply sunscreen as usual. It is a single layer, so nothing has to dry between steps.
What is actually in it?
HOWIMUSA publishes its ingredient list in full on the product page — niacinamide, panthenol, centella asiatica, ceramide NP, sodium hyaluronate and others. The complete INCI list is printed on the carton. Nothing is hidden behind a proprietary trade name.
What size are the bottles?
Every product on this store is 200ml. The ANJO 1+1 set is two 200ml bottles.
How do I store it, and how long does it keep?
Cool and dry, out of direct sunlight. ANJO Mr. Simple carries a 24-month unopened shelf life; check the carton of each product for its batch date. Packaging can vary slightly between production batches.
Where is it made, and where does it ship from?
Korea, both. Every product here is formulated and manufactured in Korea and dispatched from Korea — not relabelled from someone else’s shelf.
When does my order ship?
The HOWIMUSA essence is on pre-order and ships from 15 November 2026. A pre-order can be cancelled for a full refund any time before it is dispatched. ANJO orders ship as normal.
